- A perennial leafy herb, found in sub-alpine and alpine zones.
- Plant Description:
- Stem quadrangular. Leaves simple, ovate to lanceolate, green above, paler beneath, with 3-7 deep or shallow toothed, triangular lobes.Upper leaves 3-lobed. Inflorescence composed of numerous verticillasters. Flower zygomorphic, sessile, pinkish, mauve or white. Calyx with 5 spreading awl-shaped spine-tipped teeth. Corolla 2-lipped, hairy. Fruit is composed of nutlets which separate on ripening, pale brown.
