- A perennial herb, trailing on ground, with diffuse spreading branches, found in temperate and sub-alpine zones.
- Plant Description:
- Leaves 5-palmatisect into ovate-rhombic segments. Inflorescence a small cyme,solitary,2-flowered. Flower actinomorphic, showy, 3-4cm broad, purplish-blue to mauve, Sepals elliptic-oblong.Petals with shallow notch. Fruit erect when immature.Mericarps,hairy. Seed oblong.

- Medicinal Value:
- Root infusion is used as mouthwash for ulcers and throat infection. Used internally for diarrhea, stomach ulcer, internal bleeding and externally for hemorrhoids.[5] Locally used in back pain, dysentery and cold.
