Habit & Habitat:
A much branched shrub up to 1.5 m tall, usually on steep rocks in sub-tropical and temperate zones.
Plant Description:
Leaves simple, sessile, oblong or ovate, or oblong to elliptic,entire. Inflorescence a cyme, few-flowered. Flower actinomorphic, yellow. Sepals ovate to elliptic-oblong, entire. Petals yellow, narrowly obovate. Fruit a capsule,ovoid to conic.Seed1mm long, apiculate.
Flowering and Fruiting:
June-November.
Harvesting Time:
July-December.
Medicinal Value:
It has anti-ulcer, anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial properties, treats infection, wound healer. [12] Leaf juice is an antidote against snakebite.
