- Leaves simple, heart-shaped, whitish and hairy below, margin toothed. Inflorescence a capitulum. Flowers appear before leaves. Flower heads 2-3cm broad. Involucral bracts purplish. Ray floret yellow. Disc floret tubular. Fruit a cypsela, pappus white with long and soft hairs.
