Habit & Habitat:
An annual herb up to 10-80 cm tall, found mostly in grassy fields in sub-tropical zone.
Plant Description:
Stem quadrangular, branched. Leaves simple, linear to ovate, acute or obtuse. Inflorescence paniculate. Flower actinomorphic, bluish white to greenish. Calyx lobes ovate to oblong-ovate. Corolla bluish white to greenish with green or light purple dots. Corolla lobes ovate-oblong, acute. Gland watch-pocket shaped. Fruit a capsule, warted.
Flowering and Fruiting:
June-September.
Harvesting Time:
July-October.
Medicinal Value:
It is useful in stomach disorders, fever and skin diseases.[1][3] Locally plant extract is used to cure malaria and cough.
