Habit & Habitat:
A perennial rhizomatous herb, up to 25cm tall, found in temperate and sub-alpine zones.
Plant Description:
Stem glabrous branched from base. Leaves simple, basal leaves oblong-linear, entire, acute, univeined. Cauline leaves linear, entire and acute.Inflorescence terminal, 1-3 flowered. Flower showy, dark blue, bell shaped. Calyx lobes linear, entire, acute. Corolla blue speckled with white. Lobes ovate, entire and acute. Fruit a capsule, stalked. Seed numerous, oval.
Flowering and Fruiting:
September-November.
Harvesting Time:
October-December.
Medicinal Value:
Locally it is used as blood purifier and carminative, also useful in skin and stomach disorders.

Whole plant.
Occurrence:
Uncommon.
Future Perspective:
Conservation, Cultivation, Herbal Pharmacy.
