Habit & Habitat:
A prickly climbing shrub up to 6-8m tall found in sub-tropical and temperate zones.
Plant Description:
Leaves compound, inparipinnate, leaflets elliptic-lanceolate to elliptic-oblong. Inflorescence in panicles. Flower actinomorphic,white. Fruit a berry, subglobose, become red on ripening.
Flowering and Fruiting:
April-June.
Harvesting Time:
June-November.
Medicinal Value:
Flowers are used as antidepressant. Considered useful in eye troubles, and perfumery. Poultice of roots and leaves is useful against joint pains.
