- Leaves pinnately compound. Leaflets lanceolate,acute,sessile, glabrous.Flower actinomorphic,violet to blue-violet,showy.Calyx bell-shaped,hairy.Corolla funnel-shaped.Fruit a capsule dehiscing by valves.

- Medicinal Value:
- It has astringent and blood purifying properties and treats syphilis and rabies. Boiled in olive oil it makes a hair dressing and a black dye.[5]
