Habit & Habitat:
A perennial rhizomatous herb up to 30-80cm tall, found in sub-tropical,temperate and sub-alpine zones.
Plant Description:
Stem smooth, green and trigonous. Leaves simple, linear, 35cm long, grey-green, folded, margins smooth. Inflorescence an anthelodium with cluster of spikes on elongated axis. Fruit a nut, obovoid and trigonous, brown.
Flowering and Fruiting:
August-December.
Harvesting Time:
September-December.
Medicinal Value:
Locally rhizome is used as carminative and mental tonic. It usage is useful in mental weakness. Crushed rhizome and its essential oil is used for washing hair mainly for its hair strengthening and scalp rejuvenating properties.

Abundant.
