A small sized prickly tree up to 8-10m tall, found in sub-tropical zone.
Taxonomic Features:
Leaves compound, lanina ovate-obovate, pinnae 2-3 pairs. Inflorescence a penduculate spike. Fruit a pod. Seed 3-5.
Flowering and Fruiting:
May-June.
Harvesting Time:
June-December.
Medicinal Value:
It has anti-bacterial, antifungal activities. Grinned gum obtained from the bark is used as tonic, stimulant and demulcent. Locally muswak of branches is famous.
