Habit and Habitat:
An annual, rhizomatous herb up to 30-35 cm tall,found in sub-alpine and alpine zones.
Taxonomic Features:
Rhizome creeping, with numerous adventitious roots 1-2cm thick. Stem solitary.Leaves simple,3 in number,oval to ovate,glabrous with acute tips.Inflorescence solitary,terminal,1-flowered. Flower actinomorphic,purple-red.Perianth segments lanceolate.Stemen 6, in two whorls.Fruit a berry,globose red having many seeds.

May-June.
Harvesting Time:
June-July.
Medicinal Value:
It has anti-inflammatory properties.

Rhizome.

Uncommon.
