Anti-depressant Tea

It calms nerves, affects brain chemistry and treats depression,anxiety,stress,mental exhaustion  and helps to relieve nerve and muscle pains. Sweeten with half spoon of honey if desired.This tea has been introduced in local area on small scale.

Ingredients:Hypericum perforatum,St.John,s Wort,Peli Buti, (Flowering tops)

 

                                          

Preparation:Heat gently 1 teaspoon of dried flowering tops in ¼ litre of water for 10 minutes.

Typical Dosage: One cup of tea three times a day.

 

 

Asthma Tea

Wild Thyme Tea treats asthma, eliminates symptoms like coughs,mucus congestion,sorethroat fromcold and flu. It is commonly used in local area.

Ingredients:Thymus serpyllum,Thyme,Chikal,(Flower,leaves)

 

                                            

Preparation:Make a tea taking 1 teaspoon of dried herb or 1 tablespoon of fresh herb,add 1 cup of water and simmer for10 minutes,cover it till cooling due to fear of evaporating of essential oil.You can sweeten tea with honey if desired.

Typical Dosage: One cup of tea three times a day.

 

 

 Bergenia Tea

It heals every type of ulcers due to antiseptic and antibiotic properties of herb, controls internal bleeding,heals internal wounds and strengthens stomach metabolism.It is commonly used in local area.

Ingredients:Bergenia ciliata,Zakham-e-Hayat,Bud mava, (Rhizome,flower,leaves)

 

                     

Preparation:Boil 1 teaspoon of dried and chopped root in ¼  litre of water for 10-15 minutes.

Typical Dosage: One cup of tea two times a day.

 

Constipation Tea

It helps bowel movement by softening stool. It is an effective remedy for chronic constipation.

Ingredients:Viola odorata,Banfsha,(Whole plant)Foeniculum vulgare, sanuf,( Seed)White lump sugar, Kozha masri.

         

 

Preparation:Combine two herbs 1 teaspoon ofBanfsha,whole plant,1/2 teaspoon Sanuf,add waterand boil for 10 minutes.On cooling add powder of white lump sugar.

Typical Dosage: One cup of tea three times a day.

 

 


Heart Tea

Hawthorn Tea dilates coronary arteries,improves pumping which controls both high and low blood pressure and also improves metabolic processes in heart including oxygenation and energy production. It is antioxidant and reduces cholesterol.

Ingredients:Crataegus oxycantha,Hawthorn, Jand paror,   ( Flowers, berries, leaves)

 

                                                                    

Preparation: Simmer 1 tea spoon of dried berries or steep 1 teaspoon of leaves and flowers in ¼ litre of water for 10 to 15 minutes.

Typical Dosage: One cup of tea three times a day.

 

Liver Tea

It improves liver function and gallbladder by increasing production of bile, also improves digestion.

Ingredients:Taraxacum officinale, Dandelion, Hund, (Dried roots)

 

                                             

Preparation: Simmer 1 teaspoon of dried and chopped root in ¼   litre of water for 10-15 minutes.

Typical Dosage: One cup of tea three times a day.

 

Masloon Tea

Usage of Masloon Tea is common in Poonch Area.It is pink color tea, used in general body pains  and also as tonic,with or without sugar.

Ingredients:Bistorta amplexicaulis,Polygonum,Masloon,(Rhizome)

 

                                              

Preparation:Boil 1 teaspoon of dried and chopped root in ¼  litre of water for 10 minutes.

Typical Dosage: One cup of tea three times a day.

 

Skin Diseases Tea

This tea releases us from abscess,eczema,allergic itching of skin,  measles, heat rash, scabies, nettlrash. It can be used as a preventive measure also.

Ingredients:Swertia angustifolia,Chiryta 4g,Fumeria indica,Papra, 4g Punica granatum,rind1 g,Foniculum vulgare,Sanuf 2 g.

 

                 

Preparation: Put 4 ingredients in pan then add water.Continue boiling for 20 minutes.Strain the tea discarding solid material.Sweeten the liquid extract if desired and drink twice a day.

Typical Dosage: ¾ cup, tea a day.

Stone Dissolving Tea

It dissolves kidney and gallstones.Women past middle age are more likely than men to develop gallstones.

Ingredients:Agrimonia eupatoria   Landha Jari,(Crushed Leaves   flowers)

 

                                                            

 Preparation:Put the crushed leaves in boiling water,steep for 10 minutes.Strain and drink as hot as possible in small sips.

Typical Dosage: One cup twice   a day.

 

Note:

For chronic diseases consult your doctor please, after diagnosing it is better tostart  with  half dose.These teas can be used as preventive measures also.The duration of treatment is generally 2 to 3 weeks but it varies from person to person.
